Month of October, beginning tomorrow, is full of festivals and has several national holidays like Gandhi Jayanti and birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

As per the list of holidays, banks will remain closed for 15 days in the country. Therefore, it is very important for you to know the dates and the occasions of bank holidays.

Check the holiday details:

  • October 1: Banks in Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed due to assembly elections on October 1.
  • October 2: Banks will remain closed across India in view of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.
  • October 3: Banks in Rajasthan will remain shut as the Shardiya Navratri (auspicious Navratri) will begin from October 3.
  • October 6: Banks across the country will remain closed as October 6 is Sunday.
  • October 10: Banks in Agartala, Guwahati, Kohima and Kolkata will remain shut due to Maha Saptami on October 10.
  • October 11: Banks in some of the major cities including Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gangtok and Ranchi will closed for Mahanavami on October 11.
  • October 12: There are three reasons why the banks will remain closed on October 12. The reasons are Ayudha Puja, Dussehra (Vijayadashami) and second Saturday.
  • October 13: Banks will remain closed across the country on 13 October due to Sunday.
  • October 14: Banks in Gangtok will remain closed in view of Durga Puja (Dasan) on October 14.
  • October 16: Banks in Kolkata and Agartala will remain closed on October 16 for Lakshmi Puja.
  • October 17: Banks in Assam will remain closed on October 17 for Kati Bihu and in Bengaluru, Guwahati and Shimla for Pragat Divas (Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti).
  • October 20: Banks across the country will remain closed on 20 October 2024 due to Sunday.
  • October 26: Banks across the country will remain closed due to the fourth Saturday of the month and in Jammu and Kashmir due to Accession Day.
  • October 27: Banks will remain closed across the country on October 27 due to Sunday.
  • October 31: Banks across the country will remain closed on October 31 in view of Narak Chaturdashi and birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
