1. Odisha: About 20 injured as passenger bus overturns

A passenger bus overturned near Banarpal road here on Friday. Over twenty passengers were injured in the accident, five of whom are in a critical state. All of them admitted to Angul District Hospital and other nearby hospitals.

2. Odisha Annual Budget 2019-20 to be presented in Assembly today

State Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari will present the budget having a total outlay of over Rs 1,39,000 crore in the afternoon. It has been learnt that, the focus area of the new budget will centre on farmers’ welfare, cyclone ‘Fani’ restoration, Mission Shakti Program and other sectors like health and education.

3. DA Case: Phulbani Municipality CEO lands in Vigilance Net

In a crackdown on corrupt officials, Vigilance officials raided the office and houses of Phulbani Municipality Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Radhamohan Behera today on charges of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known source of income.

4. Rs 73 lakh worth orchidarium inaugurated in Bhubaneswar

A specially designed orchidarium was inaugurated today at the Regional Plant Resource Centre (RPRC) in Bhubaneswar. Constructed at a cost of Rs 73 lakhs, the orchidarium has been erected at the Botanical Garden for public view of orchid species and hybrids.

5. Odisha Finance Minister presents Rs 1,39,000cr Budget for 2019-20

Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari presented the annual Budget of Odisha for 2019-20 financial year in the State Assembly here estimating a total outlay of Rs 1, 39,000 crores.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met US President Donal Trump at G20 Summit in Japan’s Osaka on Friday. A host of issues such as trade, defence and 5G communications network were discussed on the first day of the two-day summit.

2. Aditya Pancholi booked on rape charges, Denies allegations

Actor Aditya Pancholi was on late Thursday was booked on rape charges. This was based on a complaint was registered with the Versova police by a Bollywood actor. However, Pancholi has denied all allegations.

3. Militant killed in Jammu & Kashmir’s Budgam encounter

A militant was killed in a joint operation by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday. The Jammu and Kashmir Police confirmed the death. Several arms and ammunition were recovered from the site.

4. Lok Sabha Approves President’s Rule In Jammu And Kashmir For 6 Months

The Lok Sabha on Friday approved the statutory resolution to extend President’s rule in Jammu & Kashmir for a further period of 6 months with effect from 3rd July 2019. Home Minister Amit Shah moved the resolution and the bill related to Jammu and Kashmir.

Donald Trump lacks moral principle: Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama accused US President Donald Trump of having a “lack of moral principle” in a televised interview on Thursday. He also said Trump should take global responsibility instead of putting ‘America First’. Speaking with the BBC ahead of his 84th birthday, the Tibetan spiritual leader said Trump was “emotional” and “a little bit too complicated.”
