  1. Odisha CM Urges PM Modi To Stop Polavaram Project

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention to stop the construction of the multipurpose Polavaram Project in Andhra Pradesh immediately. In a letter to PM Modi on Dated July 1, 2019, Patnaik listed out the dates of several letters he had written to the Centre since 2015 seeking a stop to the abeyances of the “stop work order”.

  1. 1st Merit List For Odisha +2 Admission Releasing Today

The Directorate Of Higher Secondary Education (DHE), Odisha will publish the first merit list for admission into Plus II colleges across the State today. As per a notification by the DHE earlier the merit list will be published online on its official website samsodisha.gov.in. Students can check their names by browsing through the website starting from 2 PM.

  1. Special Team Of Doctors’ Formed To Look After Conjoined Twins Ganga-Jamuna

A special team of doctors has been formed to take up the case of yet another conjoined twins of Odisha Ganga-Jamuna, who took birth to a couple of Khalapala village in Dhenkanal district on Monday. The team will comprise of seven members including Paediatric, Neonatal and Thoracic physicians. The team will be led by Dr Hiranya Mohanty.

The IMD Regional Centre here has issued a yellow alert for at least 13 districts of Odisha predicting more rain till tomorrow. The alert has been issued in view of the low-pressure area lying over the southeast Jharkhand and adjoining areas of Odisha.

The fuel tank of an IAF Tejas fell in an agricultural field in Coimbatore’s outskirts on Tuesday, police said. The aircraft was doing a sortie when the incident occurred. Defence sources in Chennai confirmed that a fuel tank from an IAF aircraft fell and said “all (was) safe”, indicating that there were no injuries.
