New Baba Vanga's chilling prediction sparks panic, travelers cancel Japan trips amid fears of catastrophic event in July 2025.
Ryo Tatsuki, a Japanese manga artist called as the “New Baba Vanga,” is in the news with her disturbing predictions, including a disaster predicted to hit Japan in July 2025. The prediction entails a megascale-moving rupture to take place underwater between Japan and the Philippines, which can generate massive tsunamis. The prediction has genuinely made travelers anxious about traveling to Japan.
Travel companies are already seeing the fallout, with agencies reporting that bookings have taken a huge hit. One travel agency, WWPKG, a Hong Kong-based travel agency reports 50% decrease in bookings for Japan over the recent Easter Break, due to the predictions. The Chinese embassy in Tokyo also released their own statement cautioning nationals against potential natural disasters and urging them to remain vigilant.
Tatsuki’s predictions, originally taking notice because of her ranting about being able to sense events prior to their occurrence. Tatsuki claims to have made major events, which include the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in 2011, the Kobe earthquake in 1995, and the death of Freddie Mercury. People pay for her book, “The Future I Saw,” which was released in 1999, then republished with the most recent prediction added. Some dismiss her claims as gimmickry but others are taking precautionary measures, sharing safety tips and evacuation plans, etc. on social media.
The Japan Meteorological Agency has acknowledge the concern and re-assured everyone with confidence concerning Japan’s preparedness for disasters.
