Man Arrives With 5 Bags Of Coins After Court Asks Him To Pay Allowance To Wife

Raipur: In yet another bizarre incident, a man in Chhattisgarh’s Champa district arrived in Court carrying 33,800 coins in 5 bags, after he was directed to pay an allowance to his abandoned wife.

The bag was full of Re. 1, Rs. 2, Rs. 5 and Rs. 10 coins, weighing a quintal. As soon as the judge saw the coins brought in the sacks, he termed it as another way of harassing the wife and told the man that he will have to count the coins on his own and give it to his wife.

The judge further said that the receipt received after the payment of money should also be submitted in the court. What is even more shocking is that the man has paid not only his wife allowance but also the lawyer’s fees in the form of coins.

Noteworthy, Pooni Ram Sahu of Kosla village under the Pamgarh police limits in Champa district of Chhattisgarh is married to Yashodhara Sahu of Nawalgarh and the couple has four daughters- three of whom are married.

However, they have been living separately since the last 20 years owing to a domestic feud.

It was Sahu’s wife Yashodhara who had filed a case against him in the Family Court, demanding compensation and allowance.
