Did you ever wake up with a bruise you don’t remember getting? Bruises normally appear when we bump into something, but some individuals seem to bruise just walking around the block.

The causes of bruising:

Bruises happen when the smallest of blood vessels in the body are burst, leaking blood in the nearby tissue.

Things that put you at greater risk of bruising include becoming older, having very fine, clear skin, and of course, being a woman.

However, these factors don’t guarantee you will start to bruise easily.

Poor diet and poor health may also contribute to bruising, and we do not only mean just low vitamin C or K levels which contribute to bleeding from blood vessels and blood coagulation.

Other issues that will cause bruising include certain blood thinning medication, aspirin, and steroids.

Usually bruises disappear in about two weeks’ time.

However if you are often developing unexplained bruising, they become particularly big or you also suffer from nosebleeds and bleeding from your gums, then you should see your doctor.

It may be a sign of an issue with your health that can be treated if identified.
