Bhubaneswar : While cyclone Fani brought huge damage to property and infrastructure in Odisha, damage to KIIT, KIMS and KISS is expected to cross Rs. 150 crore. Bhubaneswar based KIIT, KIMS and KISS have suffered architectural damage as well as damage to the green cover. Not only the cyclone has affected beauty of the campuses but lakhs of trees that had planted over the years with passion and dedication, have been uprooted.
KIIT, KIMS & KISS have some of the most beautiful and stunning campuses in this country and the world. Be it the sculptural designs or greenery, these campuses have architecturally advanced buildings, next to none.
The most beautiful and huge library of KISS has been severely damaged, while other campuses also faced similar fate. The restoration and cleaning work was started soon after the cyclone by the staff of KIIT and will be completed within 2-3 days. It is expected that the condition will be normal within one week.
The cyclone has not affected any student of KIIT, KIMS and KISS due to abundant precautions taken following the preparatory meeting hosted by the Founder. After the disaster, students and offices are being supplied power through generators. Dr. Samanta has been personally meeting the students and guardians to enquire about their well being after the cyclone. All are safe and have not been hurt in any way, they informed Dr. Samanta.
All campuses of KIIT were covered in greenery due to meticulous effort spanning over last 15 years. Now all have been damaged due to cyclone, which is very sad and bad for environment, said Dr. Samanta. Still we will try to restore the greenery within one year, he hoped.
“I express my heartiest thanks to the entire non-teaching staff of KIIT, KIMS & KISS for standing by our institute and serving it at this difficult time of the devastating cyclone”, said Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS.
