Having Sore throat, Follow these Ayurvedic Remedies to ease the pain

Sore throat is commonly reported in Omicron variant and also found in many Covid-19 positive patients.

A sore throat is a simple swelling of the mucous membrane. If not treated on time, it can lead to respiratory issues including congestion and breathelessness in the chest.

So, if you are experiencing any of these symptoms lately, you might want to try some simple yet effective home remedies that are sure to help you in no time.

Here are some quick ayurvedic remedies 

  • Gargle with salt water – Dissolve half a tsp of rock salt in warm water and gargle. This will help reduce the swelling in your throat. It will also help loosen the mucus and flush it out.
  • Tulsi – Boil 4-5 tulsi leaves in some water, strain, and drink it. You can add honey and ginger if you like.
  • Fenugreek – Boil 1 tsp fenugreek in 250 ml of water for 5 minutes, strain and drink it.
  • Mulethi – Take 1 tsp mulethi powder and suck it with honey twice a day or add it in warm water and gargle with it twice a day.
  • Steam inhalation with fresh Pudina (Mint) leaves or Ajwain (Caraway seeds) can be practiced once in a day in case of throat troubles as per AYUSH guidelines.
  • Chew Cloves – Keep a few cloves between your teeth and cheeks. You may bite them from time to time to release the oils in them. Their numbing properties prove an effective home remedy for sore throats.
