Trains continue to return to the tracks after the corona lockdown. In this sequence, more than 65 percent of the trains have reportedly returned to the tracks. Railways have recently introduced unreserved trains due to which passengers can travel without any reservation. These trains are being run as passenger specials.

The Western Zone of the Railways has commenced operations of 33 unreserved trains. These trains are running as special trains. General coaches will also be there in these trains as before.

As per the information received from Western Railway, a total of 33 special trains comprising general second class, diesel-electric multiple units (DEMU), and Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) coaches have been approved to run as unreserved special trains in lieu of reserved special trains till further notice.

The special train has 12 services from Mumbai Central Division, 22 services Ratlam Division, 8 Services Ahmedabad Division, 13 Services Vadodara Division, 6 Services Rajkot Division and 4 Services Bhavnagar Division. Out of these 33 trains, 29 trains are in passenger special category, while the other 3 trains are in Mail / Express category.

Railways have started running ordinary mail express trains as special trains, in which the fare is also being charged more than usual on special days. Now, these rules have also been applied to unreserved tickets in general category.

In the trains marked by Railways as unirrigated trains or will be carried forward, the fare will be applicable according to the Mail Express trains for the journey. This means that passenger special trains will also charge higher than normal. The important thing here is that at present, unreserved travel tickets will be issued only for selected trains.

For the general category, you can take unregistered tickets from the booking counters of railway stations, you can also book tickets from the UTS Mobile Ticketing App. For this, the railway app should be installed on your mobile phone.

On the other hand, passengers have been instructed by the Railways to follow the Corona protocols. Passengers must wear masks during the journey, observe social distancing, and keep the hands sanitized from time to time.
