Good news! Now you can apply or update Aadhaar card at your nearest Post Office, know how

Aadhaar Card is an important identity card issued by the Government of India to the citizens of India. The 12-digit unique identification number is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Aadhaar card contains your demographic as well as biometric data, including name, address, contact details, photo, and biometric detail.

It is a mandatory document for every citizen of the country. Without Aadhaar card no government work is done. Therefore, it is most important that for everyone to have Aadhaar card.

People usually make Aadhaar card by visiting the Jan Seva Kendra. However, now Aadhaar card can be made or updated in post offices. For this, the postal department has now introduced Aadhaar card related services.

“A total of 23 centers have been built in the Saharanpur district, and now not only the Aadhaar card centers will help in making these cards, but post offices will also play an active role in making changes in the Aadhaar card,” the dnaindia.com quoted SSPO Narasimha as saying while addressing the postal department.

According to reports, Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country to begin the Aadhaar card making and updating services at post offices.

The post offices will conduct a campaign every Saturday regarding making and updating of Aadhaar cards. During such campaigns people will also get information regarding the upcoming schemes of the Central and State governments.
