Follow these simple steps to rectify information on your PAN card

PAN card is perhaps one of the important documents that a person should have at a given point of time. Whether you file an income tax or open a bank account, a PAN card is deemed necessary for it. However, there are times when you find out that certain information on your PAN card is not correct. If you are someone who has a PAN card with wrong information on it, you need not worry about it. Correcting information on the PAN card is not a difficult task as you assume and it can be easily corrected it while sitting at home.

Follows these steps to correct any information which you think needs correction.

Step 1

Go to the official website of NSDL (National Securities Depository Limited). It is only through this website that you will be able to rectify your mistakes.

Step 2

Open the website and then select the type of application. There are various options that are available on the website. You have to select the following option- changes or correction in existing PAN data/ reprint of PAN card.

Step 3

You will be asked to fill some important information followed by a captcha code. You are required to upload a document like- Aadhar Card, Passport etc. You have to pay a fee after making the upload.

Step 4

After the completion of the payment process a Bank Reference Number and Transaction ID is generated. Fill up the form which appears next and point out the mistake which needs to be corrected.

Step 5

Submit the completed form and wait for few days. A new PAN card will be sent to your registered address.
