The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has released new guidelines regarding changes in the profile of the members. According to EPFO, now members will not be able to make some major changes in their profile online. The EPFO has taken this decision in view of increasing cases of fraud. The EPFO has taken several steps to help the employees. The system of online correction in name, father’s name, date of birth etc. was made easy by EPFO.

In fact, cases of fraud or mismatch were coming up after completely changing the name in the member’s profile or changing the profile completely. In such a situation, the EPFO decided that this problem should be overcome under the new guidelines. In such a situation, now the name will not be kept completely separate in the profile, a little change can be made online.

For example, if you want to make a small change in someone’s name (such as spelling mistake, or surname etc.), it can be done online. If someone’s name is N. Kumar then he can do it Naresh Kumar. On the other hand, if someone wants to be named Suresh Kumar instead of Naresh Kumar, then it is not possible online.

Aadhaar card will be required to include the surname after the middle name or marriage. But if someone wants to change his full name in the profile, then it has to be applied offline.

During this period, the declaration of the employer and all the documents should be done. The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) says that do not make any changes in the profile without the right documents.
