Divyang Rugby player receives battery operated wheel chair

Bhubaneswar: Aaradhya Charitable Trust (ACT) in collaboration with the National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled (NCSCDA), Bhubaneswar, Government of India, provided a Battery Operated Wheelchair to differently abled rugby player Goutam Singh from Olatpur. The chair was handed over to Singh in an event organised today at the NCSCDA centre in the capital city.

Goutam Singh has played the 2nd National Wheelchair Rugby Championship 2019 held at Patna in Bihar from 22nd to 24th February 2019. He has lost complete sensation in his legs.

Principal Secretary of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) Niten Chandra, NCSCDA Assistant Director Ram Kishor Sharma, Social activist Ganesh Samant, State coordinator (SSEPD) Sukant Kumar Sahoo, Managing Trustee of Aaradhya Charitable Trust Sagarika Satapathy, Trustee Suchitra Gupta, Sasmita Pradhan, Aroon Sahu and Board member Jagannath Mishra were present at the event.

“We have planned to provide wheelchairs to three other physically challenged rugby players,” intimated the managing Trustee of ACT. She thanked Vaibhav Mishra and Suchitra Gupta for their financial assistance.

“The Battery Operated Wheelchair will help Singh to get more success in future,” said Suchitra.
