The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which makes changes to the Aadhaar card, has said that there is a limit for updation in the card. This means that the limit for updating the name, address and mobile number in the Aadhaar card of any holder has been fixed. Although Aadhaar cardholders can also make many changes online, but for some updates, they have to go to the centre itself. At the same time, UIDAI also charges some fee from the cardholders for making changes in the document.

How many times can I update the name on Aadhaar card?

Due to a small mistake in the Aadhaar card, many times big things get stopped. UIDAI said in an official announcement that the name mistakes made in any Aadhaar card can be changed up to a maximum of two times. You do not need to visit any Aadhaar centre to change your name. It can also be changed online sitting at home.

How many times can I update the date of birth on Aadhaar card?

Cardholders can change the mistake of the birth date given in their Aadhaar card within a gap of three years. This means that if the date of birth in the Aadhar card is more than three years ahead or more than three years behind, then you cannot change it. Whereas the address error can be updated once.

How often can I do gender updates on Aadhaar card?

If there is some mistake in the gender entered in your card, then you will have to visit the Aadhaar Enrollment/Updation Centre to update it. Like the date of birth, the cardholder can change the gender only once on the Aadhaar card. UIDAI had clarified in the notification published in the year 2019 that the holders can update the gender only once.
