Bhubaneswar: Dr. Anupam Jena, Consultant Cardiologist, and Electrophysiologist, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) has been awarded the prestigious ‘Best Clinical Case’ award by the Korea Heart Rhythm Society (KHRS) for successfully operating a rare cardiac arrest case.
The award was given to Dr. Jena at the 11th Annual Scientific Session of KHRS in the presence of Choong Hwan Kwak, President, KHRS and Yong Seog Oh, Chairman, Board of Trustees.
Dr. Anupam Jena and his team operated a 65-year male who has old anterior wall MI, a survivor of sudden cardiac arrest, post ICD implantation. He presented with VT storm and multiple ICD shocks. Dr. Jena and his team did a successful VT ablation for him.
The case was awarded the “best clinical case” considering the very complex nature of the procedure and favourable outcome for the patient. Cardiac Electrophysiology work from India rarely gets international recognition so this award is significant.
Expressing his happiness over the success Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT, KISS & KIMS congratulated Dr. Jena and his team.
