AI Enabled death date calculator to help you know when you will die, know details
Life and death used to be unpredictable. Yes! you read it right. It used to be unpredictable but not anymore. Researchers have developed an AI-enabled mortality calculator which can predict how near you are to your death. The AI tool detects the mortality risk up to a decade in advance.
A study publish in the Lancet Digital Health revealed that, researchers have developed an AI-powered electrocardiograms (ECGs) which can help in predicting a person’s risk of future health issues and even death. But the calculator is yet to be used in medical care field. Next year, UK will trial this AI calculator in two hospitals under the UK’s health agency National Health Service. The experts are hoping that the AI tool will be available across the health service within next five years.
“We sought to address these limitations of previous AI-ECG approaches by developing the AI-ECG risk estimator (AIRE) platform,” the researchers wrote in the studies published in the Lancet Digital Health.
The Lancet researchers also revealed that, the programme is called as AI-ECG risk estimation or AIRE. They have developed the AI technology using a dataset of 1.16 million ECG test results from 1,89,539 unique patients. The tool uses a single electrocardiogram (ECG) test and records heart activity in minutes. They have found that, the AI calculator detected upcoming serious heart health problems in 76% of the total cases. It has also detected the future atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, where the arteries narrow, making blood flow difficult in 70% of the total cases studied. The health care professionals got the details about present disease along with a range of future health risks. This advanced tool will help the professionals detect the upcoming danger and prevent it with proper medical assistance. If everything goes right, than thousands of patients will get benefitted from it.
