Achyuta Samanta conferred with ‘Outstanding Green Activist’ Award

New Delhi: Founder of KIIT and KISS, education reformer, educationist and philanthropist Dr. Achyuta Samanta has been conferred with the ‘Outstanding Green Activist Award’ by the Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE) for the year 2019. Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari handed over him the award in an event on December 16, 2019, in New Delhi.

The award was given to Dr. Samanta for his outstanding contribution in propagating awareness among people to use Green (Environment-Friendly) Fuel especially generated from Solar Energy apart from Organic Fuel, which is being used in KIIT and KISS.

Receiving the award, Dr. Samanta said, “I convey thanks to the jury and IFGE for bestowing this honour on us for our work towards Green Planet. Such awards recognize our commitment towards eco-friendly sustainable practices and inspire us to continue with full zest”.

“We will continue the momentum and launch a movement on ‘Go Green – Plant for the Planet’ as Art of Giving 2020 theme. We also pledge to plant and take care of 100 million saplings and trees”, he added.

Dr. Samanta has dedicated this award to all the students, faculty and staff of KIIT & KISS, who have always supported him in creating a green sphere. Among others, the Vice-Chairman of NITI Aayog, Dr. Rajiv Kumar was also present on the occasion.
