7th Pay Commission: DA hiked! Government employees to get higher salaries from April 1

In what can be considered as a piece of great news, the government employees will now get higher salaries from April 1, 2022. As per the announcement by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh state government employees would get higher salaries from April 1.

The Dearness Allowance (DA hike) has been hiked by 11 per cent from 20 per cent to 31 per cent so that the state government employees can tackle the rising inflation.

While addressing a function in Vidisha district earlier this month, Shivraj Singh Chouhan had said that the State government could not hike the DA due to coronavirus. However, the DA of Madhya Pradesh state government employees will be hiked to 31 per cent and disbursed from April.

Around seven lakh employees are expected to get the benefit following the DA hike.

On the other hand, several national media reports say that the Modi government may also soon announce a DA hike for the central government employees and pensioners. The central government employees have been demanding a hike in DA and fitment factor under the 7th pay commission.
