There is great news for the central employees and pensioners who are eagerly waiting for the DA arrears of 18 months. If media reports are to be believed, the Union government is mulling over giving up to Rs 2 lakh of DA together.
It is to be noted here that the central employees have been demanding for a long time the withheld DA from January 2020 to June 2021.
The Finance Ministry had stopped the DA hike of the central employees in May 2020 till June 30, 2021 due to the Covid pandemic.
However, as per the information received from the sources, there will be a meeting of the concerned officials soon to discuss the one-time payment of DA arrears. There have been reports that the government can give up to Rs 2 lakh to the employees as DA arrears, depending on the level of the employees.
Let us tell you that the dearness allowance of central employees was increased by 28 percent from July 1. Earlier, they were getting paid at the rate of 17 per cent. At the same time, in October 2021, it was increased to 3 percent and 31 percent. At the same time, in March 2022, once again the dearness allowance has been increased by 3 percent.
