Dhenkanal: Tension ran high in Kunua village under Rasola police limits in the district on Sunday night after a married woman was found dead at her house under mysterious circumstances.
The deceased has been identified as Geetanjali Khilar, wife of Ajay Khilar.
Some neighbours of Geetanjali spotted her dead at the house late in the night. After finding her in-laws missing from the house, they smelled a rat in the incident and called up Rasola Police.
Police reached the spot later in the night and lodged a case after seizing the body.
Family members of the deceased have claimed that she was getting tortured in the hands of her in-laws to bring more dowries for last four years and might have been killed for that.
Police are trying to trace the absconding in-laws of the deceased.
