Bhubaneswar: In the wake of unabated violence and clashes between two rival student groups in Vani Vihar (Utkal University), the authorities have decided to cancel the student union polls and declare sine die in the campus.
The decision was taken late last night after Section 144 imposed in the campus following hurling of low intensity bombs at the ladies hostel.
Students have been asked to vacate the hostels by 6 PM today. This is the second consecutive year student union polls in Utkal University have been cancelled owing to violence.
