Manas Sahoo’s sand art tribute to Rajinikanth

Puri: Internationally acclaimed sand artist Manas Kumar Sahoo created a sand sculpture on the golden sea beach in Puri to wish super star Rajinikanth on his 67th birthday on Tuesday.

Manas used 10 tons of sand to create the 10ft wide sand sculpture with a title – “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SUPER STAR RAJINIKANTH.” The sand artist took around 4 hours to erect the beautiful sand sculpture.

Rajinikanth, who is known for his charismatic, inimitable and unparalleled style in his movies, and at the same time as one who carries himself with exceptional simplicity and modesty in real life, was born on December 12, 1950 in Bangalore of Karnataka state.

Shivaji Rao Gaekwad known by his mononymous stage name Rajinikanth began acting in plays while working in the Bangalore Transport Service as a bus conductor. In 1973, he joined the Madras Film Institute to pursue a diploma in acting. Following his debut in K. Balachander’s Tamil drama Apoorva Raagangal (1975), his acting career commenced with a brief phase of portraying antagonistic characters in Tamil films.

He has a huge fan following across the globe and often called as Thalaiva (leader in tamil).

A prominent figure in the history of Indian cinema, Rajinikanth has won numerous awards for his performances.The Indian government has honoured him with the Padma Vibhushan in 2016 and Padma Bhusan in 2000 for his contributions towards Indian cinema.
