Kohli Grabs No. 2 Spot In ICC Test Rankings

Dubai: India captain Virat Kohli has moved up three places to grab second position among batsmen in the latest ICC Rankings, after registering his career-best score in the third and final Test against Sri Lanka, which ended in a draw in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Kohli, who slammed back-to-back double-centuries and recorded three-figure score in three consecutive matches, had started the series in the sixth spot. He has now surpassed Joe Root, Cheteshwar Pujara, Kane Williamson and David Warner after an exceptional run in the series which saw him average 152.50.

The Indian skipper is now just 45 points behind from his Australian counterpart Steve Smith. Kohli is the current No. 1 in ODIs and T20 rankings.

In the Test Team Rankings, India have lost one point but remains well ahead of South Africa at the top of the rankings , while England stay at third position.

In the Rankings for Bowlers, Briton James Anderson has secured top spot with South African Kagiso Rabada second, while  Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin remain in third and fourth position respectively.
