Rourkela: Acting on the allegation of amassing assets disproportionate to known sources of income, Vigilance officials conducted simultaneous raids at four places including the houses of Ramlal Tanti, the headmaster of Jalangbira Project Upper Primary School in Sundergarh district on Tuesday.
According to reports, five teams of Vigilance officials conducted the searches at four places including two houses of the headmaster at Raibaga road, his office and his in-laws’ house.
Though the exact amount of the disproportionate property owned by Tanti is yet to be known, sources at the Vigilance department said that the accused teacher possesses assets worth more than a crore.
He has a two storey building, a car and given a market complex, with around 10 shops, on rent.
On the other hand, the Headmaster pleaded his innocence saying “I have purchased all my assets with loans. I built the market complex and house after borrowing money from my in-laws.”
