Press meet over PNG connectionBhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will launch the commencement of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) under Urja Ganga gas pipeline project here on October 20, announced GAIL India Project Director Ashutosh Karnatak.

Addressing a press meet, Karnatak said, “A total of 255 residents in Nalco Nagar in State capital will be getting the environment friendly fuel in the first phase”.

The project has been named as ‘Happy Fuel’, he added saying the project will bring happiness among the consumers.

The supply which would start almost six months before the initial deadline set in March 2018, GAIL India Project Director said the initiative would help in reducing fuel exports and there would be no hassles of booking and storage since the fuel would be continuously supplied  through pipes. The payment would be carried on usage basis through meter reading, he claimed.

Besides, four CNG stations are also under construction in the state while a pilot project of PNG will begin in Cuttack by March next year.

GAIL India has also planned to construct a Natural Gas Pipeline of about 769 km length covering 13 districts across the state. The Pipeline will be constructed with an initial investment of Rs 4000 crores.
