Recipe: How To Prepare Mawa Cake At Home Without Oven

Mawa Cake is an outstanding dessert to relish. It is a Parsi dish. Made with mawa and infused with indigenous elaichi (cardamom) flavour this sweet delicacy is regarded as a popular tea time cake. With wonderful aroma and flavour from cardamom Mawa cake is a tasty food.

List of Ingredients:

1. Mawa (Substitution: Milk powder): 1 Cup
2. Milk: 1 Cup
3. Refined Flour: 1 Cup + 1/4 Cup
4. Powdered Sugar: 3/4 Cup
5. Refined Oil: 1/4 Cup
6. Baking Powder: 1 + 1/4 Tsp
7. Baking Soda: 1/4 Tsp
8. Vinegar: 1 Tsp
9. Cardamom Powder: 1/2 Tsp
10. Butter: 2 Tbsp
11. Dry fruits (For Garnishing)
12. Saffron (For Garnishing)

 

Procedure:

Take a 6-inch cake mould. Grease the cake mould with butter or oil and then coat the same with refined flour and dust the excess product.

Take a mixing bowl add 1 cup of grated mawa, ¼ cup refined oil and 2 tbsp butter and mix it well using a whisker until turns creamy. After this add ¾ cup of powdered sugar and whist until the sugar mixes with the ingredients.

Take a strainer and sieve 1 cup refined flour and add to the mawa, sugar and oil mixture. Then gradually add 1 cup of room temperature milk and mix it until the right consistency. However, if you find the mixture to be too thick you can add 2 to 3 tbsp of extra milk.

After mixing everything add sieved 1+1/4 tsp baking powder and ¼ tsp baking soda. Add ½ tsp cardamom powder. Lastly, add 1 tsp of vinegar just before you transfer it to the cake tin for baking.

After adding the vinegar immediately transfer it to the greased mould and garnish it using dry fruits of your choice and some saffron strands.

Place it inside the homemade oven that you prepared initially and bake it for 45-50 minutes on medium flame or if you are using microwave then pre-heat the oven at 180 degrees for 5-10 minutes and place the cake and bake it for 40-45 minutes at 180 degrees.

Your cake is ready to be served.
