#LetLoveBe: Adorable Pictures Of Gay Wedding Go Viral; Twitteratis Shower Love & Blessings

Bhubaneswar: Love should never mean having to live in fear. Love has no gender, no religion and its greatest power is that it sees all people alike. In the unification of two minds, the orientation of sexuality is irrelevant.

Breaking all taboos and social stigma attached to homosexuality, New Jersey-based award-winning choreographer Amit Shah tied the knot with long-time beau Aditya Madiraju, at a traditional wedding ceremony in the USA.

From their romantic love story and ‘dream-like’ wedding ceremony, to the tasteful decor and the matching outfits sported by the two for all events, every single thing was perfect to the ‘T’.

Pictures from the wedding went viral on Twitter, with many Twitteratis congratulating the couple and wishing them a lifetime of togetherness.

Amit and Aditya met through a mutual friend in 2016. Despite having completely different personalities, the duo hit it off instantly- thanks to their similar interests.

“Aditya is very creative. For me, being in performing arts, that was very important. I desired a partner who is passionate. A year in the relationship, we realised, we loved each other, and came out to our parents,” says Amit.

The grooms zeroed down on designer Anita Dongre for their ensembles for the wedding day. Amit chose the Abhivira kurta set from Dongre’s new summer collection, Summer Reverie. “The sage linen suit is printed with motifs inspired by the lush gardens of Rajasthan’s palaces. Featuring a Mandarin collar and full sleeves, the long open bandi and kurta are paired with off-white trousers,” Dongre revealed to Vogue, describing the outfits.

Aditya, on the other hand, picked the Amartya kurta set by the couturier. “The salmon pink linen outfit, complemented with a Nehru jacket, features similar floral motifs as Shah’s kurta,” she added.

Overwhelmed by all the love received from well-wishers and friends across the globe, both Amit and Aditya took to Instagram and thanked everyone for taking out time to congratulate them and for sending best wishes.

Thank you to everyone who took the time out to congratulate Aditya and I over the last few days. We are unable to respond to each and every message, but we are very grateful for your support. 🙏🏽 As we fall back into our routine life, it is important to remember that any conversation about same-sex marriage is healthy (whether you agree with the views of others or not.) To open up someone’s mind about something they know nothing about takes time and patience. Anger and frustration is never the way to build awareness. Give those uninformed a chance to learn and realize that LOVE is more powerful than any race, religion, gender, or preference. Keep the conversation open.
