KalingaTV Bureau: Your PAN will become inoperative from October 1, if you do not link your PAN with Aadhaar by September 30.
Earlier the rule was that, if your PAN was not linked with your Aadhaar by a specified date, then PAN would have become invalid.
Linking can be done by three modes, i.e., by sending SMS, by visiting E-filing website or by visiting designated PAN Service centre.”
You can send an SMS to either of the PAN service providers namely NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited or UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Limited (UTIITL).
You can also visit a service centre of PAN service provider, NSDL or UTIITSL. You will be required to fill in the form ‘Annexure-I’ along with the supporting documents i.e. copy of PAN card and Aadhaar card
Another way to link PAN with Aadhaar is to do it on the income tax departmemt’s e-filing website. On the left side column under ‘Quick Links’, click on ‘Link Aadhaar’.
Here you are supposed to share your PAN, Aadhaar and name following which an OTP will be generated to complete the PAN-Aadhaar linking.
Name, birth date and your gender as per PAN will be validated only against your Aadhaar details.
You also have to ensure that Aadhaar number and name as per Aadhaar is exactly the same as printed on your Aadhaar card.
