Keep Yourself Warm

Always wear multiple layered clothes, cover your ears and wear socks to keep your body warm. Try home remedies such as gargling hot water and steam intake to keep cough and cold at bay. Ensure cleanliness and wash your hands before having food. Get as much sunlight as possible as it has vitamin D, which boosts your immunity. Do exercise that keeps the body warm, which is essential during winter. You needn’t do vigorous exercises. Climbing merely one flight of stairs or doing just ten pull-ups in the morning will be enough.

Hygiene Yourself

Increase your intake of vitamin C, which will protect you against colds and coughs. Citrus fruits, such as oranges and lime, are good sources of Vitamin C. Drink as much as water you can, because our body loses water in winter, just as it does in warm weather. Eat more green and orange vegetables. Those are important in getting healthy nutrients, sugars and fats. Spinach, cucumber, carrots and oranges are all delicious during winter. Consume more fibre that is found in apples, oats and nuts, which is important to decrease inflammation and boost immune system function.

Moisturize Frequently

Dry skin, chapped lips, itchy eyes, irritated sinuses and throats are some of the common issues faced in winter. Falling temperatures and dryness in winter can cause skin and respiratory problems. Hence, keeps your skin in proper condition using a good moisturizer. Use a humidifier when indoors to prevent respiratory illnesses. Keep your body hydrated with adequate intake of water.

Avoid Cold Water

Avoid drinking cold water and have a nice hot cup of tea, coffee or milk, according to your preference.

Avoid Hot Water Bath

Avoid taking bath with hot water because it opens up your pores and warm water enters into the pores and makes your skin drier which causes irritations in skin.
