She has been voted as the most beautiful woman in a survey. On the other hand she has also grabbed recognition thanks to her social work. She is the founder of Ankita Shaw foundation through which she extends social service to mostly orphans. Besides, she also works to promote culture and tradition of Odisha. We chatted with the beauty queen to know more about her. Excerpts:

“My first introduction to people was through my Miss Balasore title. And soon I was bestowed with a few other titles,” Ankita said about her early days in glitterati.

What is her definition of beauty? Kalpasa says, “Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. You can see beauty in anything and everything. It goes beyond the obvious. You don’t quite believe the compliments that came my way.”

Asked how important beauty is for a woman she said, “Inherent beauty is more important than external beauty. For me this is the definition of beauty. And I feel both these types actually get recognition. Again, the term ‘beauty’ is not related only to women. A man with a kind heart can also be termed beautiful.”

Asked to provide her opinion on marriage the beauty queen said, “Marriage is all about growing together. And I must say it is a blessing from God.”

Do you feel your life a fairy-tale? Ankita says, “I lead a normal life irrespective of what the perception is. I am just a normal girl. I am my parent’s daughter and soon going to be someone’s wife. I am playing multiple roles as a woman. Fairy-tale can only be a perception.”

After her portrait getting place at the Australia Art Gallery Ankita can be seen as an international icon. Asked for her opinion on it she said, “I am not going to make any opinion on it but surely I enjoyed the recognition. Life is been so kind to me. I am happy that my life is enriched with all these achievements and sweet experiences.”
