53 year old woman tops 12th exam, leaves husband shocked

A woman named Bhanwari Shekhawat is a 53-year-old student from the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, who has become an inspiration for others after attending this feat. She not only decided to resume her studies after 33 years but also topped the 12th standard leaving her husband and everyone around her amazed by her results.

Currently, Bhanwari is pursuing her graduation from Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay University, Sikar.

Bhanwari’s message was loud and clear that age cannot be a barrier for those who wish to rise in life. The lady herself says that there is no age to get an education. Anything can be done when there is a passion for hard work and the zeal to achieve the goal.

Bhanwari attempted the 12th board two years ago, and the age of 51 she not only topped in her exams in entire college, but also brought the highest number in the entire Rajasthan. This led her to be honored with the Meera Award.

Bhanwari Shekhawat is a housewife living in Vivek Nagar, Jhunjhunu. Bhanwari’s husband Surendra Singh Shekhawat is a lawyer in Jhunjhunu DJ Court. She resumed her studies after 33 years to give the 12th examination, and left her husband shocked over her results.

Bhanwari passed her 10th class from Maharashtra Board in 1986. After only completing her matriculation. her parents gave her hand to Surendra Singh for marriage.

According to Bhanwari, after marriage circumstances didn’t support her to continue studying. However she always had the urge to read. She said that she wanted to study further but unfavorable conditions of the in-laws, suppressed her desires.

Reportedly, Bhanwari’s husband revealed that she was always very fond of books and wanted to complete her graduation. Therein, in 2019, she filled the form from the open board, to attend the 12th board and later topped it. The housewife used to do household chores and study simultaneously. She started with reading her 10th books again and then moved on to higher education.

The aspirant started studying very seriously and would often find herself devoted to her books for around three to four hours in the afternoon after doing all the household work every day.

“When the result came in 2020, everyone was shocked,” said the Rajasthan board topper. Her results convinced her that there is no shortcut to hard work and dedication. After this, Bhanwari applied for graduation in a private college. Currently, Bhanwari Shekhawat has completed the first year of graduation, and is studying in the second year.
