Zero: SRK’s Film Collects Rs. 20.14 Crore On Day 1
Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release ‘Zero’ had a fantastic start at the box office on Friday. The movie opened with a total collection of Rs. 20.14 crore on day 1. Despite mixed responses from the critics, the film put up a great show on day 1, with viewers running to catch SRK’s Bauua Singh on the big screen.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the first-day box office collection of Zero on Twitter. He wrote, “#Zero has underperformed on Day 1, despite extensive release [4380 screens] + #Christmas vacations… Sat and Sun biz extremely crucial… Fri ₹ 20.14 cr. India biz.” The film’s performance is better than Shah Rukh’s last release Jab Harry Met Sejal which earned Rs 15.25 crore on the day of its release.

However, trade analysts were expecting a better opening for ‘Zero’. “Being a non-holiday Friday, the film is expected to earn something between Rs 25-27 crore. Clocking around 3500 screens, everything is going well for SRK. His character Bauua Singh has become a household name because of a well-crafted promotion strategy.”
Also starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, Zero tracks the story of a vertically challenged man Bauua Singh (played by SRK), who falls in love with a cerebral palsy patent Aafia Yusufzai Bhinder (Anushka). His love story takes a drastic turn when he meets the alcoholic actress Babita Kumari (Katrina Kaif). Bauua dumps Aaifa for Babita and later gets dumped by her. After this, Bauua realizes his mistake and tries to win back Aafia again.
With Christmas Weekend ahead, the film is being expected to pick up the pace in the next few days.
