The trailer of ‘Sui Dhaaga’ starts with the entry of Varun Dhawan’s Mauji, a happy-go-lucky man who is very content with life. He is satisfied doing odd jobs for people who in return, insult and humiliate him. Disheartened by this, Mauji’s wife Mamta (played by Anushka Sharma) inspires him to start something on his own and lead a dignified life. Mauji then picks up a sewing machine and gets back to his ancestral occupation of stitching clothes. It is only a matter of time before his tiny business grows into a small-scale handloom industry. However, problems do not end here as both Mamta and Mauji battle for respect, dignity and identity all along. The trailer ends on an emotional note with Mauji exclaiming- “Sui Dhaaga, Made In India”.
