Watch: Trailer of Aamir Khan & Amitabh Bachchan’s Much Awaited ‘Thugs of Hindostan’

Mumbai: The trailer of Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ has been released by the makers. The film, which is touted to be the most elaborate one to come out this year promises to be a gripping historical entertainer about notorious bandits of the British era.

The trailer of the film was launched on late filmmaker Yash Chopra’s birth anniversary on Thursday. The 3 minute 38 seconds long video takes viewers to the year 1795. British East India Company is slowly gaining hold in India for territorial expansion- killing innocent Indians and destroying villages and cities. However, there are some who are giving them stiff resistance- Khudabaksh aka Azad (Amitabh Bachchan) and his trusted aide Zafira (Fatima Sana Sheikh).

To get rid of them, the cunning British officials decide to hire a conman named Firangi Mallah (Aamir Khan) who is a greedy man of loose morals. He is hired by the Company officials to deceive and trap Azaad through a charade. The most intriguing thing in the trailer is Aamir’s Mallah who begins by two-timing both sides of the divide but towards the end of the trailer, seems to switch sides. Katrina Kaif also makes a fleeting appearance in the clip, with glimpses from her dance number ‘Suraiyya’.

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra, ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ promises to be an epic film full of thrill, action, adventure and suspense. The film is based on Philip Meadows Taylor’s novel ‘Confessions of a Thug and the Cult of the Thuggee.’

‘Thugs of Hindostan’ is slated for a Diwali release on November 8, 2018
