VicKat wedding: Did Katrina seek inspiration from Masaba’s collaboration with Sabyasachi?
Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, who became husband and wife on Thursday, shared their pictures from the mandap on their social media and made a public announcement of their relationship status. In the pictures they sure look happy and beautiful together but, there was something else which caught the eyes of fashionistas. It was the attire the bride and groom chose to be donned in. Especially the bride who looked stunning in her pristine red bridal lehanga choli and heavy silver jewelries. However, it reminded us of one of Masaba’s bridal collaboration with Sabyasachi.
Seems like the look Katrina preferred for her big day wasn’t really conceptualized from the scratch by the house of Sabyasachi.
One of India’s top fashion designer Masaba Gupta, who owns her own clothing house called ‘House of Masaba,’ months ago collaborated with Sabyasachi and posed for one of the attires from his collection. The look that was originally conceptualized for Masaba seems to be what inspired Katrina’s look as well.
On noticing both the pics clearly one can point out how Kat’s look bears a striking resemblance to Masaba’s. Especially the jewelry assemble, is so similar in both of their looks, this derives a conclusion that Katrina was visibly impressed by Gupta’s styling, and decided to imitate it for her wedding day.
