Inspired by this, producer Dinesh Vijan has announced a sequel to ‘Stree’. The film was supposed to retain the original cast of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. However, going by the latest reports, actor Varun Dhawan might replace Rajkummar Rao in the sequel.

A source close to the project informed Filmfare that it is ‘Kalank’ actor Varun Dhawan who is keen to be a part of the sequel given his penchant to explore new territories.

The source informed, “Varun has met the makers several times and is trying to work things around. However, the makers are in a dilemma as they share a good bond with Rajkummar, the hero of Stree.”

On the work front, Varun Dhawan is gearing up for his next film ‘Kalank’ which also stars Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Sonakshi Sinha.
