‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ crosses 100 cr

Mumbai: Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ became the first movie in 2019 to cross 100 cr on Monday. Not just that, the movie also crossed this milestone in a record of 10 days.

Celebrated film trade analyst Tara Adarsh shared the news via his Twitter handle on Monday. “And #Uri crosses Rs 100 cr… Sure, Rs 100 cr is *not* the yardstick to gauge the success of a film, but it should be celebrated when mid-sized films like #SKTKS, #Raazi, #Stree, #BadhaaiHo and #UriTheSurgicalStrike hit century… Content is king and the audiences are king makers!,” he wrote in his tweet.

In his another tweet, Adasrh said, ”Sure 100 cr is *not* the yardstick to gauge the success of a film, but it should be celebrated when mid-sized films like #SKTKS, #Raazi, #Stree, #BadhaaiHo and # Uri: The Surgical Strike hit the century…..Content is the king and the audiences are the king makers!”

In yet another tweet, Adarsh mentions the days taken by mid-budget movies to crossed 100 crores

The movie is based on India’s most publicized surgical strike undertaken at Uri by the Indian Army. on seven terrorist launchpads across the Line of Control on September 29, 2016. This was in retaliation to a terrorist attack on an army camp at Uri earlier that month. The movie is a fictionalized version of the events.

‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ is the largest grossing only solo hit movie of Vicky Kaushal’s 3-year long career.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the movie also features Yami Gautam, Mohit Raina, Paresh Rawal and, Kirti Kulhari.
