Dubai: A few days back, popular Bollywood singer Mika Singh has been arrested by the UAE police for allegedly molesting and sending inappropriate pictures to a 17-year-old Brazilian girl on WhatsApp. Mika was arrested after the girl filed the complaint in the Muraqqabaat police station.
As per reports, the singer was arrested 3 am in the morning from a bar located in Bur Dubai and was then taken to Abu Dhabi jail. Now, another report has surfaced which claims that Mika was sent back to the UAE jail after his court hearing. A leading daily in the Middle East stated, “Mika was produced in the court today evening. And he has been sent back to police custody.”
The Indian ambassador to UAE spoke to the leading daily regarding Mika’s arrest. He said, “He is under arrest. Our team is there. We are working to secure his release.”
Known for songs like Jumme Ki Raat Hai (Ready), Mauja Hi Mauja (Jab We Met) and Ibn Battuta (Ishiqiya), Mika is the younger brother of Punjabi singer Daler Mehendi.
Earlier, item girl Rakhi Sawant had filed a case against Mika for forcibly kissing her on 11 June 2006. While the matter created a huge uproar, Mika feigned innocence and said that Rakhi had kissed him first, prompting him to reply in kind.
