Mumbai: The much-awaited trailer of ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga’, starring father-daughter duo Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor is finally out. The film, which also stars Rajkummar Rao, Juhi Chawla and Regina Cassandra, has been directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
The trailer opens with Rajkummar Rao’s Sahil Mirza introducing himself as ‘one of the actors of the play’. He urges the viewers to see the play ‘not through their minds but through the eyes of their hearts.’ Rao narrates his love story and how he fell for Sonam the moment he saw her.
On the other hand, Sonam’s Sweety Chaudhary is a girl who has had rosy dreams about her marriage since childhood. Her family also starts looking for a suitable match for her and while there are several good options, she isn’t ready to say yes to any of them.
Sweety has a secret- something that creates a storm and causes her family to turn against her. The trailer also shows two women being torn apart by their families, hinting that the love of Sweety’s life is probably a girl. The trailer ends on a very emotional note and has Sonam saying- “True Love ke raaste me koi na koi Siyappa hota hi hota hai…. Agar na ho to love story me feel kaise aayegi….”
Touted as the most unexpected romance of the year, Sonam Kapoor’s Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga’ promises to offer a refreshing and an unusual take on love. The film, shot in the colourful backdrops of Punjab and Delhi, appears to be fun, vibrant, lovely and full of life. By the looks of it, the movie seems to do full justice to its tagline ‘#LetLoveBe’.
Earlier, the makers of ELKDTAL has unveiled a teaser, which opened to the iconic song ‘ek ladki ko dekha to aisa laga’ from Anil Kapoor’s 1994 film ‘1942-A Love Story’.
Ek Ladki To Dekha To Aisa Laga is a special film for Sonam as it marks her first ever collaboration with father Anil Kapoor. A few days back, the National Award-winning actress had unveiled a poster from the film on her father Anil Kapoor’s birthday. Sharing the picture on Instagram, Sonam wrote-

‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga’ releases on February 1, 2019.
