Mumbai: After kickstarting the revolutionary #MeToo Movement in Bollywood by accusing Nana Patekar of sexual harassing her on the sets of ‘Horn Ok Pleassss’ in 2008, actress and former Miss India Tanushree Dutta has now filed a Rs. 10 Crore defamation suit against Rakhi Sawant.
Interestingly, Rakhi had replaced Tanushree in ‘Horn Ok Pleassss’ and gave statements in support of Nana Patekar; alleging that Tanushree is making false allegations against the veteran actor for publicity.
According to latest reports, Tanushree has filed a defamation suit against Rakhi for making derogatory comments on her character and for calling her ‘mad’ and ‘doped’.
At a press conference on September 29, Rakhi made several statement, calling Tanushree a liar and a drug addict. She said, “Tanushree is mad and she is a liar. She has just woken up after a coma of 10 years. Tanushree Dutta is saying such things because she has exhausted all the money from her bank account and has no work, and is blaming Nana Patekar ji. Nothing of this sort ever happened. Nana is a senior actor and he was an absolute gentlemen while filming the song with me.”
Rakhi did not stop her. She abused Tanushree and challenged her to come face to face with her and that she would slap her if she ever did.
Tanushree Dutta’s advocate Nitin Satpute told India Today that they had filed a criminal and civil defamation suit against Rakhi for maligning Tanushree’s character and public image. He added that if Rakhi did not reply, she will be punished for two years.
Meanwhile, Rakhi has also threatened Tanushree with a counter law suit of Rs. 50 Crore. She said “Tanushree has filed a Defamation case against me for 10 crores I will file a 50 crore defamation case against Tanushree for calling me a lower class girl.”
