Sumona Chakravarti leaves The Kapil Sharma Show, to be seen in her new show

The Kapil Sharma Show has once again made it to the headlines. However, this time the reason is neither Akshay Kumar nor Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’. In fact, the show has once again garnered attention due to it’s own cast member Sumona Chakravarti.

As per the latest reports, Sumona Chakravarti is speculated to have left the comedy show for a Bengali show.

Earlier, Ali Asgar, Upasana Singh and Sunil Grover as Dr. Gulati had dropped out of the show. Now, sources claim that Sumona too is saying adios to TKSS. Although there is no confirmation on this news, it is being speculated because of a new promo featuring the actress.

Sumona has been part of the comedy show since its inception in 2013. Earlier, she played the character of Manju Sharma, Kapil’s wife. However, on the latest format her name was changed to Sarla Gulati, a girl deeply in love with her neighbour Kapil. Recently, there were rumours that the Kapil Sharma Show might go off the air. Hence, the news of Sumona leaving didn’t come as a shock to many. However, the news was later debunked.

According to the reports, Sumona has been roped in to be a host in a Bengali travel show titled Shonar Bengal. In the reality show, the actress will be seen exploring the state and sharing her some lesser-known facts about the region and its people.

The channel Zee Zest took to its Instagram page to share a promo of the show. “Explore Bengal’s rich culture and the most exciting and interesting destinations with @sumonachakravarti Watch Shonar Bengal starting 30th March, Wednesday 8pm only on Zee Zest!” read the caption.
