Sonam Kapoor Recalls Favourite Childhood Memories Of Aunt Sridevi

Mumbai: It was last year on February 24 that ‘Bollywood Icon’ and ‘India’s first female superstar’ Sridevi passed away. On her first death anniversary, the actress was remembered by fans and family members, who took to social media and shared heartfelt messages for the legendary actress.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja also shared her favourite childhood memories with the late actress. The actor, who won the National Award for ‘Neerja’, talked about her favourite Sridevi film and one childhood memory of her Sri Chaachi which will always stay with her. Sonam said, “I think my favourite film of hers is Mr India. And my childhood memory of hers is her living with me in my house for many many years. And her letting me watch Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke on her television in her bedroom. I’ll never forget that.”

The Kapoor family had also organised a special Pooja for late Sridevi in Chennai. The function was attended by her daughters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, husband Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Sunita Kapoor. Tamil superstar Ajith and English Vinglish director Gauri Shinde along with husband R.Balki were also a part of the ceremony.

On many occasions, Sonam has revealed how close she was to her aunt Sridevi. In fact, the late actress had also made a beautiful painting of Sonam from her debut film ‘Saawariya’ where she is wearing a bright blue dress.

Noteworthy, Sridevi, 54, passed away on 24th February 2018 due to accidental drowning in a bathtub at a Dubai hotel. Her death had sent shockwaves across the entire film fraternity, devastating family members and fans.
