Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma Raise Voice Against Ill-Treatment Of Stray Dog

Bhubaneswar: Sonam Kapoor is undoubtedly the most vociferous actor in Bollywood. Time and again, the actress has openly spoken about relevant issues and this time it was no different.

Recently, a stray dog in Mumbai was brutally beaten up by guards of an apartment complex in Worli. The dog who went to the complex to take shelter from rains was mercilessly beaten up by the guards and now he’s in coma, battling for his life.

When the ‘Neerja’ actor got to know this, she took to social media and launched a campaign to seek justice for the animal.

The brutal incident came into light when Sonam shared a video of the dog wriggling in pain. She wrote “Please help! An FIR has been registered with the Worli Police Station by Bombay Animal Rights on 27/7/19 as Nishank had stopped responding to all our calls All videos & evidence available & provided to the police We need help for this Pup from our animal welfare community BOMBAY ANIMAL RIGHTS 9920388000.”

Many other celebrities promptly came out and expressed their shock at the inhuman treatment meted out to the dog. Ranbir Kapoor’s sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni commented, “This is beyond horrible !!!! My heart breaks just looking at this ! #stopanimalcrueltynow.”

Similarly, Esha Gupta wrote, “We need stricter laws against animal cruelty.” Tiger Shroff’s mother Ayesha posted, “This is inhuman!!!!”

Jacqueline Fernandez also commented saying, “There is a crime and they need to put punished for this”

Anushka Sharma, whose love for animals is well-known, shared a picture of the dog and wrote, “The inhumanity of this act is just unbelievable. This is the time for our community to step up and find a way to help get justice to a soul that can’t stand up for himself. If there is any way one can reach out to help, this is the time. Furthermore, actor John Abraham also took to Twitter and asked all animal lovers to stage a protest outside the apartment where the incident took place.
