Mumbai: Sonam Kapoor, whose latest release ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ is winning hearts all over, is on a professional high after delivering back-to-back hits last year (viz. Padman, Veere Di Wedding and Sanju). And if reports are to be believed, the National Award-winning actress is all set to star in Rohit Shetty’s next cop drama ‘Sooryavanshi’ opposite Akshay Kumar.
According to a report by Filmfare, Rohit Shetty and his team met up with Sonam Kapoor to discuss a project. It could be regarding the lead role for Shetty’s upcoming film, Sooryavanshi with Akshay Kumar.
Earlier, it was reported that Katrina Kaif has been approached to play Akshay’s leading lady in Sooryavanshi, but brushing off the rumours, Rohit said, “It’s not true’. We are still working on the script.”
Interestingly, ‘Sooryavanshi’ will mark the third collaboration of Sonam and Akshay. The duo has starred in two films viz. Thank You (2011) and Padman (2018).
On the work front, Sonam Kapoor’s next release is ‘The Zoya Factor’ in which she stars opposite Malayalam Heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan. Besides, there are also rumours that she might be a part of Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Munna Bhai 3’.
