“Arunodaya” a two-day virtual dance festival was organized by the School of Creative Hands (SOCH).

As the pandemic continues, the premiere institute, the School of Creative Hands (SOCH) decided to go virtual again to continue the legacy and celebrate Arunodaya – a Cultural Saga, their annual event; fourth in the on-going series.

Sh. Rahul Varshney and Smt. Mona Kapoor the Artistic Director duo of SOCH are working to provide professional training and support in the field of Indian Classical Dance, Music, Theatre and Art.

This two-day event premiered on SOCH Facebook and YouTube accounts on 18th and 19th December. Both these days were lined up with amazing performances from the respected guest artists and the students of SOCH.

18th December had a perfect line up for the audience. It started with Krishna Mangalacharan presented by SOCH dancers. The first featured guest artist was the Odissi dancer Shri Manoj Pradhan (Disciple of Guru Nrityacharya Shri Durga Charan Ranbir). He performed Raageshree Pallavi followed by a beautiful expressive Abhinaya “Mohane Deli Chahin”. Afterwards, the stage was lit up by the promising SOCH dancer Mridula Naik who performed Saberi Pallavi. The first day of Arunodaya ended with the online exhibition of beautiful artwork presented by the talented artist Mona kapoor and her students at SOCH.

On 19th December, the programme started with Sarswati Manglacharan performed by the young budding SOCH dancer Aarushi Samal. The event proceeded with an enthralling performance by the esteemed guest artist, Odissi dancer Shri Santosh Ram (Disciple of Guru Shri Bichitrananda Swain) who set the stage on fire with his performance on “Priye Charuseele” from Jayadeva’s Geeta Govindam. It was followed by a very mature Abhinaya, Lalita Lavang from the upcoming SOCH Dancer Shreshtha Panda and the two-day series finally ended with the energetic Kalyani Pallavi performed by SOCH dancers.
