Saqib Saleem & Harrdy Sandhu Join Starcast Of Kapil Dev Biopic Starring Ranveer Singh

Mumbai: After two back-to-back hits namely ‘Simmba’ and ‘Gully Boy’, actor Ranveer Singh is on a roll. The actor is now looking forward to the Kapil Dev biopic in which he will be seen playing the titular role of the ace Indian Cricketer, who brought home the World Cup in 1983.

As per latest reports, Saqib Saleem and Harrdy Sandhu are the latest ones to join the starcast of the biopic, which has been titled ’83. Both the actors have been roped in to play crucial parts in the film.

Saqib Saleem and Harrdy Sandhu will be portraying Mohinder Amarnath and Madan Lal respectively. Both played a crucial role in getting the Cricket World Cup home in 1983.

At present, Ranveer is being trained under Balvinder Singh Sandhu, the former Indian cricketer who was a part of the winning team in ’83. He has begun prepping for the film and trying to transform himself to get into the skin of the character.

Noteworthy, Saqib Saleem is the sibling of actress Huma Qureshi. He has appeared in films like ‘Mujhse Fraaandship Karogey’, ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’, ‘Bombay Talkies’ and more recently ‘Race 3’.

On the other hand, Harrdy Sandhu is a Punjabi singer and actor. His first song was taqila shot but he got popularity with Soch (2013) and Joker (2014), which were written by famous lyricist Jaani and made his acting debut in Yaaran Da Katchup (2014).
