Samantha Ruth Prabhu said NO to cast opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Atlee’s ‘Lion’
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has collaborated with blockbuster Tamil director Atlee Kumar for Pan India drama, titled ‘Lion’. Although actress Nayanthara is playing the lead in the movie opposite SRK, sources reveal that she wasn’t the first choice for the character. Tollywood’s talk of the town, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, was reportedly Atlee’s first choice for the film’s female lead.
However, Samantha turned down the offer.
The movie is said to be a revenge-action entertainer, that revolves around a theme of bank robbery for which he will assemble a team of women including Nayanthara, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, and others. Yogi Babu and Sunil Grover also play vital roles in the film.
There are also rumours circulating that Bollywood’s ace music director AR Rahman will be composing the music of this movie.
On the work front, SRK recently wrapped up the shooting for Pathan. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also stars John Abraham as the lead protagonist and Deepika Padukone as a Raw agent in pivotal roles. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will also have a special cameo in the movie as a Raw agent Tiger.
Samantha on the other hand recently wrapped up the shooting for Shaakuntalam. Directed by Gunasekhar the movie also stars Dev Mohan and Allu Arha in pivotal roles.
Apart from that, both the actors are surrounded by controversies for different reasons currently. Where Samantha, a few weeks ago, separated from her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya leaving their fans in despair over the news. King Khan is facing a hard time as his son Aryan Khan is facing time in jail in connection to the cruise ship drug bust case.
