The success of Pushpa 2 is proof of the enormous popularity of the franchise, established with the first part, Pushpa: The Rise. It was directed by Sukumar, and the power tussles were set against the backdrop of red sandalwood smuggling. Released during the pandemic, Pushpa: The Rise did remarkably well, raking in Rs. 326.6 crore worldwide. The film also made Allu Arjun bag his first National Award for Best Actor. So, this was one film that did well to cement the position of a leading star in Indian cinema.

Expectations are quite high with Pushpa 2 as well since the first part broke so many records and made a name in the cinematic world. And from the box office performances that are being reported, it’s quite clear that the film is on the right track to do that.

However, the daily collection on Day 29 saw a major drop of 61.51% and had earned Rs. 5.1 crore net, as reported by Sacnilk. The film had witnessed a massive 72% hike on Day 28, when it had earned Rs. 13.25 crore. Still Pushpa 2 has managed a strong show from the box offices despite facing healthy competition from several major releases this week, as Mufasa, Max, Marco, Vanvaas and Baby John vied for dominance. The movie’s pan India approach through Tollywood also stood the test right, with collections in India running at Rs. 1,189.85 crore net. With continued dominance at box offices, this is one place where Pushpa 2: The Rule could be seen sitting pretty.
