Richa Chadha, Pankaj Tripathi Join The Starcast Of Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s Panga

Mumbai: Richa Chadha and Pankaj Tripathi are the latest to join the starcast of Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s ‘Panga’. Richa, who was last seen in ‘Fukrey Returns’ has been roped in to play a pivotal part in the family drama, which also stars Kangana Ranaut, Neena Gupta and Jassie Gill.

Both the actors took to social media to announce their association with the project.


Pankaj Tripathi has earlier worked with Ashwini in ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’. At present, Richa Chadha is busy shooting for ‘Shakeela’ which is a biopic on the life of popular South actress Shakeela Begum. Her next release in ‘Love Sonia’ which deals with the gruesome issues of human trafficking and sexual exploitation of young girls.

Notably, ‘Panga’ is the third directorial of Ashwini Iyer Tiwari who had earlier made pathbreaking films like Nil Battey Sannata (2015) and Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017). The maverick filmmaker had announced her film last month by sharing a video on her official Twitter handle.

Announcing Panga, Ashwini wrote- “My existing reality is a reflection of my dear ones’ belief in me. From the team backed by its families. Presenting #PANGA with #KanganaRanaut, @jassi1gill @Neenagupta001. Produced by @foxstarhindi | In Cinemas | 2019”


Produced by Fox Star Studios, Panga is said to be the story of a new-age family which challenges stereotypes and dares to dream. The film promises to reaffirm the belief that nothing is impossible for a family which laughs, cries and dreams together.

Kangana will be playing a national-level kabbadi player in the movie while Jassie Gill will be seen as her husband. A heartwarming family tale, Panga explores familial love and instinctual affection between the members of a family. It is slated to hit theatres in 2019.
