Ranbir-Alia took only four pheras at their wedding, reveals Rahul Bhatt

Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt tied the nuptial knot on Thursday. Their pictures from the ceremony took over the Internet in no time. The ‘Student Of The Year’ actress took to her Instagram to share beautiful pictures from the event and officially announced her marriage to Ranbir Kapoor. The couple got married in a very intimate ceremony in the balcony of their Vastu house.

While the couple kept the marriage a secret and did not reveal any details until after the marriage, new updates kept surfacing every now and then. Now, yet another update has come to light regarding the star’s wedding rituals where Alia’s brother Rahul Bhatt has revealed that the couple only took four pheras and not seven as per tradition.

The wedding rituals were held by the Pandit that has been with the Kapoors for years.

According to the sources, the pandit (priest) explained the significance of each phera. Rahul said that it was fascinating for him to know how each pheras resemble a certain responsibility. Where one phera is for ‘dharm’ another is for ‘santaan.’ He further said that having come from a household of multiple ethnicities, he found the information very fascinating. He then revealed that there were not 7 pheras but 4 pheras, in Ranbir-Alia’s marriage, for the record.

While sharing some aesthetically breathtaking pictures from her marriage ceremony Alia wrote, “Today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home … in our favourite spot – the balcony we’ve spent the last 5 years of our relationship – we got married. With so much already behind us, we can’t wait to build more memories together … memories that are full of love, laughter, comfortable silences, movie nights, silly fights, wine delights and Chinese bites. Thank you for all the love and light during this very momentous time in our lives. It has made this moment all the more special. Love, Ranbir and Alia.”

Alia broke the stereotype by taking a no-makeup look on her big day and the couple opted for a simple off-white and gold colour palette for their looks. After their marriage was over, the love birds also came out to meet their fans and paparazzi who were standing outside the venue. After the meet and greet, Ranbir lifted Alia on his arms and took his bride away from the crowd.

Fans have been waiting for their favourite couple to become husband and wife from a very long time. However, with the dream finally coming true, people can hardly stay calm as they have flooded social media with Alia and Ranbir’s wedding pictures along with their best wishes for the couple’s new beginning.
